2007 Supported Employment Conferring Ceremony

Students show off there DiplomasIn September 2007 19 students of the Foundation Diploma in Training and Education in Supported Employment received their certificate of successful completion as part of a cross-border Supported Employment Training in Ireland (SETI) project.  St. Michael’s House Open Training College delivered the course in partnership with Northern Ireland Union of Supported Employment (NIUSE), and the Irish Association of Supported Employment (IASE).

This innovative project was the first of its kind on the island of Ireland, offering 14 participants from Northern Ireland and 6 participants from border counties with professional education and training in principles and practices of Supported Employment. The National University of Ireland, Galway, accredits the course and Mr. Seamus MacMathuma (University Secretary and Secretary for Academic Affairs) and Mr. Seamus O’Grady (Director of Adult & Continuing Education) attended the conferring ceremony at Malone House in Belfast.
