To apply for a place on an Open Training College course

  • If you are interested in the shorter Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses in Social Studies and Management, click here for information on the CPD modules and here for a CPD application form.
  • Or, you can write or call the College and a form will be posted out to you. Click here to visit the contact page

  • Ensure you answer all questions in all sections of the application form. Incomplete forms will be returned. This could delay your application and cost you a place on a course.

  • If choosing to avail of the Partnership Approach, complete Section 5 of the application form with your manager or other authorised person in your agency. Ensure all details are completed and that it is signed by the relevant person.
  • Return the following documentation to the Open Training College:
    • fully completed application form
    • €80 application fee (for Management and Social Studies courses)(non-refundable)
    • two passport size photographs, signed on the back
    • copy of photo identification, such as a driving license or passport (for international applicants)
  • We will acknowledge your application in writing within two weeks. If you do not hear from us by then, you should contact us immediately.
  • For Degree applicants:
    • You will be called for a short informal interview/information session (Applicants Day) to discuss your application and verify details
    • each student is required to pay at least 25% of the annual course fee at Registration
    • All applicants are required to undertake the MyOTC Foundation Course - an online course allowing applicants to explore and obtain specific online skills that are required by each student to make the best use of the eLearning environment.  Details of this course will be shared at Applicants Day.   • For shorter courses, eg. Foundation Diploma in Training and Education in Supported Employment, full payment is required in advance.
